Recovered narcotics inspected in Yamunanagar

Inspector General of Police (IG), Ambala Range, Pankaj Nain recently conducted a surprise inspection of recovered narcotic items, pertaining to 103 pending cases, at the Police Lines, Jagadhri, Yamunanagar district.

According to information, these items include narcotics such as ‘ganja’, ‘sulpha’, poppy husk, opium, and are said to be worth Rs 6,45,87,971.

Chamkaur Singh, a police spokesperson, said, on the IG’s arrival in Yamunanagar, he was welcomed by Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal. “The IG inspected narcotics recovered in the district, pertaining to a total of 103 pending cases. All narcotics items were found to be in good condition. The IG also gave necessary guidelines regarding the maintenance of the storehouse,” the spokesperson said.

SP Kamaldeep Goyal said the Police Department had seized the narcotics by taking action against drug traffickers.

“Seized pure narcotics are destroyed under a legal process to prevent misuse. These are periodically checked by senior officials,” the SP said.

According to information, all narcotics have been kept sealed, and will be destroyed soon, after orders from higher authorities. The IG praised the district police for the recovery of narcotics.
