In a significant step towards curbing corruption and ensuring transparency, the Rewari district administration has introduced a new system for deputing Registry Clerks (RCs) at all tehsils and sub-tehsils through a draw of lots.

The initiative, aimed at reforming the Revenue Department, began with a district-wide draw held at the Mini-Secretariat on Monday, in the presence of local MLAs — Laxman Singh Yadav (Rewari), Dr Krishan Kumar (Bawal) and Anil Yadav (Kosli).

Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Meena announced that starting Tuesday, no offline registry work would be allowed at any tehsil or sub-tehsil across the district.

Notably, the Registry Clerk (RC) plays a vital role in the land registration process, document verification, record maintenance, and assisting senior officials in the registration of sale and other deads.

“Just as the state government is actively delivering public services through digital platforms in the Revenue Department, the Rewari district administration is committed to maintaining transparency and fairness. RCs who have served more than five months at a single location are being replaced through a random draw, and new RCs are being assigned to various tehsils,” said the DC.

Meena emphasised that this move was a key part of the administration’s anti-corruption efforts. During the draw event, the MLAs oversaw the allocation of RCs to each tehsil, in the presence of eligible clerks.

He further explained that following recent transfers of Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars by the government, the district administration is also working to ensure new support staff was posted accordingly. All newly appointed RCs were trained on Monday under the supervision of DRO Pradeep Deshwal and were asked to take charge at their new postings from Tuesday.

While issuing a strict warning to the newly appointed clerks, Meena said if any complaint of corruption arises, immediate action would be taken as per rules. He added that going forward, this draw process would be conducted every five months to ensure regular rotation and discourage long-term postings.
