The JJP leader said the untimely rain has increased the moisture content in the paddy crop, and the government should provide relaxation to the farmers by purchasing the paddy with moisture up to 22 per cent.

“There is mismanagement in the grain markets and the farmers are being forced to sell their produce below the MSP when they have already suffered heavy losses this year. The government is yet to release the compensation to the farmers who have suffered losses due to rain and waterlogging. The compensation should be released at the earliest. The government should also ensure that the farmers get their payments within 48 hours of selling the crop,” he added.

While addressing the party workers, Chautala called upon the party workers to start preparations for the upcoming Ambala Municipal Corporation elections and strengthen the party’s base.
