The closure had earlier forced many families to send their children to far-off government schools in Karnal, Hisar, Gurugram or expensive private schools in Chandigarh.

Advocate Vijay Bansal, president of Shivalik Vikas Manch, had submitted a memorandum to the chairman of the Haryana Welfare Society for Persons with Speech and Hearing Impairment on January 19, 2024, demanding the reopening of the Panchkula school and the upgrade of the primary school in Raipur Rani.
