Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala said in case of death of a person registered with the Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) due to Covid, the dependent family will get a monthly financial assistance under the ESIC Covid Relief Scheme.
The Deputy CM, who also holds the portfolio of Labour and Employment, distributed benefit letters to the dependent families of workers registered with the ESIC who died of Covid after March 24, 2020.
It was informed that this scheme was started on March 24, 2020, and would be applicable for two years. Under this scheme, 90 per cent of the average daily wage of the insured person who died of Covid will be paid every month to their dependents. In this, according to the ESIC Covid Relief Scheme, the prescribed share will be given to the wife of the deceased for life or till the second marriage, the son till the age of 25 and the daughter till she gets married. Not only this, a minimum relief of Rs 1,800 per month will be given.
