Remove hoardings or pay penalty, MC Commissioner warns defaulters
Rohtak Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Dharmender Singh has stated that the persons who have put up hoardings and other publicity material in an unauthorised manner should remove the same themselves or be ready to pay the penalty.
“Along with the penalty, the expenses incurred on removing the illegal hoardings etc will also be recovered from the persons who have put these up for their advertisements or publicity,” warned the Commissioner.
He maintained that teams of the enforcement wing of the MC were inspecting the sites and taking action against those who had put up illegal hoardings, flex-boards and posters etc.
“Our teams are removing such material from the main roads and also identifying the violators. Notices are being given to the violators and action will be taken against them under the Haryana Prevention of Defacement of Property Act 1989 and Advertisement Policy. This week, notices have been given to 35 violators,” Singh said, adding that the work was being monitored by Joint Commissioner Abhinav Siwach.
The Commissioner stated that major developmental works would be done in the MC area under Divya Nagar Yojana.
Currently, the construction and beautification of six parks at a cost of Rs 8 crore and construction of a stadium in Bohar village at a cost of Rs 9 crore were being undertaken under the scheme.
Meanwhile, a meeting was held to review the work of the MC and other municipal bodies, during which the officials concerned were instructed to accord priority to property tax work and ensure immediate action on the pending applications.
“Applications should not be returned without any reason. If any application is returned, a valid and clear reason should be mentioned,” said the Commissioner. The MC has also issued notices to the defaulters for the payment of the property tax.
Reviewing the work of Swachh Survekshan 2024, the Executive Engineer, MC, and all secretaries were instructed to ensure the lifting of garbage from every house in the MC area.
The MC authorities have appealed to the residents not to spread dirt, warning that teams of the civic body would issue challans to those who dump garbage at public places.
The officials concerned were also directed to build Waste-to-Wonder Parks in their respective jurisdictions.
