Replace damaged manhole covers before monsoon
The picture taken shows a damaged manhole cover on the turn of a busy road, in Narwana. It has been lying in such a condition since long but the Public Health Department has no bothered to replace it with a new one. Nearby shopkeepers have placed a stick with a polythene bag on it, so as to warn motorists from impending danger. Such damaged manholes can be seen at a number of places and the administration must repair and replace them with new ones before the onset of monsoons. — Ramesh Gupta, Narwana
Sirsa doctors help tide over ‘blood crisis’ during pandemic
The second wave of Covid-19 has a widespread impact on healthcare services. Blood banks are no exception to this. Collection of blood was severely affected. A few camps, which were organised, showed a poor turnout.. All this had severe impact on the blood supply for emergency cases It gives me immense pleasure to inform you that Sirsa branch of our Indian Medical Association came forward to help in these testing times. Our doctors took turns to book time slots, so that they could visit Shiv Shakti Blood Bank to donate blood with their family members, friends and hospital staff . All Covid-appropriate protocols were observed. There are many more sessions in pipeline under this drive. It helped Shiv Shakti Blood Bank to tide over the “blood-crisis” during the pandemic. — Dr Ved Beniwal, Patron, IMA Haryana, Sirsa
