RERA to verify promoters’ progress with dedicated team
The Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA), Gurugram, has achieved a success in the filing of quarterly progress reports (QPRs) by city-based real estate promoters.
After a meeting in this regard on Monday, RERA Gurugram Chairman Arun Kumar said at one time, the QPR compliance was only about 35 per cent, which has now gone up to 91 per cent due to the efforts by the RERA team.
He said it was a good progress and in yet another move, the authority would now send its own team to a project site to assess the actual quarterly progress of construction and the expenses incurred as well for a better monitoring and ensuring timely completion of the project as stated by a promoter in its affidavit to the authority at the time of granting RERA registration.
“RERA Gurugram will verify the actual progress on ground compared to the quarterly progress report filed by the promoters under provisions of Section 11 read with Section 4 of the Act 2016,” he said.
He said the authority’s move was aimed at shifting its focus to the qualitative aspect.
Under Section 11 of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, a real estate promoter is required to file quarterly up-to-date status of the project and such other information and documents as may be specified by the regulations made by the authority.
Early this year, the RERA Gurugram had initiated a drive by calling defaulter promoters to comply with the regulations to avoid actions.
