The residential localities located on the Ghora Farm Road in Ward Number 20 have been facing neglect in terms of basic necessities and development for a long time. Residents alleged that the locality was being given a step-motherly treatment by the authorities with poor infrastructure and inadequate maintenance of basic facilities.
Virender Narwal, the head of the Ghora Farm Road Market Association, said that the condition of the streets, sewerage and overall facilities in localities was inexcusable. Narwal said, “It’s a clear example of how this area is being ignored despite the claims of development made by the authorities. The residents here are not looking for luxury but for basic amenities like functioning sewers and safe roads.”
Targeting the Municipal Corporation of Hisar and the local MLA, Savitri Jindal, he said that residents had been facing challenges due to blocked sewers, broken roads and overflowing water. But, the authorities and the ruling politicians have not taken any cognisance of the problem of the locality.
“Sewerage systems are constantly getting blocked. There are sewers that are over a decade old and in need of urgent repairs, but nothing is being done to address these issues,” he alleged. Narwal also expressed his disappointment over the lack of attention by the authorities concerned.
