Local residents of Azad Nagar Colony are increasingly troubled by young bikers causing disturbances by honking loudly and creating chaos, particularly during the evenings. The narrow, crowded lanes of the area have become hotspots for such reckless behaviour, prompting residents to file complaints with the traffic police, Rampura police post and through the CM window.

Mayank Kumar, a resident, highlighted that these youths, many under 18, drive at high speed with modified silencers, causing loud, bullet-like sounds. “The noise, ruckus and risk of accidents have disrupted daily life, especially in lane number-5 and surrounding areas. The situation has contributed to rising noise pollution and disturbed the peace,” he said.

Residents are also concerned about traffic jams caused by reckless driving, which inconvenience pedestrians and the elderly. Tarun Kumar, another resident, added that the issue is widespread across the ward, with motorbikes and scooters being driven dangerously. He called for stricter enforcement, including surprise fines and increased patrolling to curb the menace.

Kaushal Pal Rana, SHO, Traffic Police, assured residents that regular checking drives are conducted, and violators are penalised. “If there is a problem in any specific colony, targeted vehicle-checking drives will be initiated to address the issue,” he stated.
