The overflowing Tangri in Ambala Cantonment recently left the industrial area in Ambala Cantonment severely waterlogged, causing losses to the industrial unit owners. Vij said a process was initiated a couple of years back to acquire the land, but due to back to back elections, the process was stopped.

Vij, who reached the war room established at the Industrial Area, said the government was taking concrete steps to boost industrial development in Ambala Cantonment. As part of this initiative, the process of acquiring nearly 2,600 acres of land adjacent to the Saha Growth Centre will soon be resumed.”

The minister said a new industrial area and logistic park would be developed on this proposed land. Alongside, the Railways is also progressing with plans to establish a freight terminal nearby.

The development of the industrial area, Logistic Park, and Freight Terminal in close proximity will not only provide comprehensive facilities to industries but also strengthen the regional industrial infrastructure, generating thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities.

Vij, while interacting with the industrialists, directed the Deputy Commissioner Ambala to immediately restart the acquisition process for the 2,600 acres of land. He said the process would now be expedited as several farmers had expressed willingness to provide their land to the government and had already applied through the e-Bhoomi portal in the past.

As the industrialists expressed desire to relocate to Saha to set up their industries, Vij said the government was working in the best interests of the industry and would provide full support.

During his visit, the Minister also interacted with sanitation workers and praised them for their efforts. Vij also reviewed progress with officials who informed that electricity supply has already been restored in 43 factories, and by Sunday evening, power supply would be restored in up to 95% of units. He emphasised that the War Room would remain active until all facilities are fully restored.
