Retd principals, teachers of aided colleges seek pension like govt staff
The Retired College Principals Teachers Federation, Haryana, raised its longstanding concerns before Assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan, Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda, Karnal MLA Jagmohan Anand, Indri MLA Ram Kumar Kashyap and Assandh MLA Yoginder Rana. They demanded that the state government should provide them pension through treasury like government pensioners.
The federation felicitated the Speaker, Minister and MLAs during a programme organised at DAV PG College, Karnal, by it. Prof DR Chaudhary (retd), president of the federation, highlighted the achievements of the federation and welcomed the guests.
Prof PR Tyagi (retd) apprised them of the major problems of retired principals and professors from aided colleges of Haryana, which include demands for payment of pension through treasury, provision of comprehensive medical facilities, provision of full pension benefits on completion of 20 years of service, additional 20 per cent pension to those who attained the age of 80 years and family pension to mentally challenged children of pensioners after their death.
Kalyan, while addressing members of the federation, praised the contribution of teachers of Haryana’s aided colleges in higher education and assured all members that he would make every effort to resolve all their issues.
Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda also assured them that their demands would be fulfilled. The MLAs also considered all demands of the retired persons to be genuine and assured their full cooperation in fulfilling them.
“Our demands are genuine and the government should fulfill them. Presently, we get pension which comes after three different stages, while government pensioners get pension without any delay, so we want similar a pattern for us,” said Prof BR Gulati (retd), adding that teachers contributed in nation-building so their demands would be fulfilled in the larger interest of retired principals and teachers of aided colleges.
Principal of DAV PG College RP Saini greeted all guests present and vice-president of the federation Attar Singh thanked the distinguished guests and all members.
