Retired CRPF personnel murdered in Rewari

A retired CRPF personnel, identified as Nihal Singh (65), was murdered by unidentified assailants at his residence in Jainabad village in the wee hours of Thursday. The police have registered a case against two unidentified persons and launched an investigation. However, no arrests have been made.

The crime was perpetrated when Nihal Singh was asleep in the outer room of the house. The assailants knocked on the door and as soon as he opened it, they forced their way in, pushed him and attacked him with a sharp-edged weapon. They fled the scene immediately after committing the crime.

On hearing his cries, other family members, who were asleep in other rooms, rushed out and found Nihal already dead.

SP Hemender Singh Meena said that efforts were underway to identify and apprehend the culprits, who were spotted walking in CCTV footage recorded in the village.
