A retired sub-inspector of the Haryana Police reportedly committed suicide in Yamunanagar district.

In a press release, a police spokesman said a retired Sub-Inspector Kanwar Pal Singh died by suicide due to his illness as it was revealed in a suicide note found from his pocket.

The press release further said that Kanwar Singh committed suicide on Sunday by shooting himself with his licenced gun at his village Dharmkot falling under the Bilaspur police station, as he was troubled by his illness.

Kuldeep Singh, SHO, Bilaspur police station said that Kanwar Singh had retired from the Police Department in 2012 and was living at Dharamkot village. He said he had been ill for some time.

“Before dying by suicide, Kanwar Singh wrote in the suicide note that he was committing suicide due to his illness. Therefore, no one is to be blamed for my suicide,” said the SHO in a statement.
