Return to ballot system: Hooda

Former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda has claimed that the BJP's rigging of elections has now become public knowledge. “Rahul Gandhi has presented concrete evidence of this. The daily increase in the vote percentage after voting in Haryana also points to rigging,” he said, addressing the media on Monday.

He said after the Assembly election results, the Congress had asked several questions to the Election Commission (EC). “For example, on the night of October 5 last year, the commission stated that 61.19% voting had taken place in Haryana. But the next day, it was increased to 65.65%, and on October 7, a day before the counting, it was 67.9%. The EC should explain how the votes increased,” he said.

"The Congress is going to hold a rally in Delhi on December 14 against this. When major developed countries are holding elections with ballot papers, India should also do the same,” he said.

Reacting to the SIR issue, he said party workers and booth-level agents would work vigilantly to prevent rigging in the voter list.
