MoU inked during CM’s visit; project to create 1,700 jobs

Japan’s Seiren company will invest over Rs 220 crore in a mega project at Rohtak, creating employment for more than 1,700 youths. The company signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Haryana during the recent visit of a high-level delegation led by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini to Japan.

Seiren Company Limited is a global leader in textile solutions and advanced materials manufacturing, with its products catering to diverse sectors, including automobiles, interiors, environmental protection, lifestyle, cosmetics, electronic components, sensors and magnetic materials.

Highlighting Haryana’s strength in textile sector, the Chief Minister said Haryana was home to over 2,000 textile units and the second-largest contributor to India’s textile production, providing a strong foundation for the growth of synthetic and specialty textiles.

He pointed out that the state had a robust network of industrial training institutes (ITIs) and several skill development centres dedicated to textile manufacturing and related fields, ensuring a steady supply of skilled manpower.

The Chief Minister said the MoU signed with Seiren Company would strengthen Haryana’s manufacturing ecosystem and generate significant employment opportunities for the state youth.

Local industrialists have welcomed the move, though they maintain that the state government should also address the concerns of the existing industries and ensure the provision of basic amenities such as clean and adequate drinking water, good roads, sewerage and sanitation etc in all industrial areas.

“Establishment of the mega industrial unit is a welcome step as it will boost the state’s economy and create job opportunities for the youth. Nonetheless, the authorities concerned should also safeguard the interests of the existing industries, including the small and medium units,” stated Devender Kumar, a local industrialist.

Meanwhile, the state government has claimed that the three-day visit of the high-level delegation to Japan would bring an investment to the tune of Rs 5,000 crore to Haryana.

Tractor company to invest ₹2,000 crore

The delegation from Haryana visited the Kubota Tractor Plant at Osaka in Japan. Kubota company announced an investment of Rs 2,000 crore in Haryana in collaboration with Escorts. This investment is supposed to be a major step forward for both industrial and agricultural sectors of Haryana.

Research on green hydrogen

The Haryana Government and Mitsui Kinzoku Components India Pvt Ltd company of Japan signed an MoU to promote research and development in the field of green hydrogen. This collaboration marks a significant step towards encouraging innovation in the green energy sector in Haryana. Under the MoU, efforts will be made to advance research, technology development, and investment in green hydrogen production, storage and applications.

Country’s largest lithium-ion battery plant

ATL Battery, a subsidiary of TDK Corporation, Japan, is establishing India’s largest lithium-ion battery manufacturing plant in Haryana. A meeting was held in Tokyo with TDK Corporation, a leading Japanese electronics company, to discuss collaboration in electronic components, sensors and magnetic materials.

Daikin to set up R&D centre

Another MoU was signed in Osaka between the Haryana Government and Japan’s renowned company, Daikin Industries Limited. Under the MoU, Daikin will invest Rs 1,000 crore in Haryana to establish a new Research and Development (R&D) Centre. Under the MoU, Daikin will establish a new R&D Centre in Haryana in the field of innovation and technology. The centre will focus on the development of advanced technologies and sustainable industrial solutions.
