The authorities in Panchkula are paying no heed to the miserable state of roads in various parts of the city. I would like to bring to the notice of the authorities the road dividing Sector 20-21 which is in bad shape. Almost a kilometer stretch is full of pot holes, is not safe for driving and can become a cause of mishaps. The road is in this shape for the past five months and the officials should look into the matter before it leads to accidents.

Clogged sewers

I am pained to point out lack of concern on part of the public health authorities here in getting clogged sewers cleared despite repeated complaints. Though, I had lodged three written complaints on February 3, 6 and 11 regarding the closed sewers in Professor Colony, but to no avail. The obnoxious smell that these clogged sewers emit and the ugly sight that these present cannot be photographed. The authorities should take a note of the situation without delay. Underconstructed house a threat to residents

I ncomplete construction of plots is a major threat to the residents as such homes in Sector 9, Ambala City, can be easily misused by miscreants for committing crimes in the area. A similar incident was reported from here in the past and the authority has yet not taken any measures. Under a rule of the department the owners who construct at least 25 per cent of a plot are resumpted from any penalty. The rule is obsolete as the policy is harmful to other residents because it gives rise to crime. The government should review the policy.

Parking problem prevails

THE parking problem in Sector 20, which is one of the most populated, is prevailing since long. The authorities preferred t start paid parking at Sector 8, 9 and 10 but ignored Sector 20 for the reasons best known to them. The market of the Sector is packed with vehicles right from the morning by the commuters and regular customers visiting the market face problem in parking their vehicles. The parking lots lack markings and most of the parking is usurped by unauthorised vendors. The authorities should immediately start paid parking with proper management.
