A Roadways training inspector, posted at the Heavy Driving Licence Training School in the Sirsa depot, was allegedly caught red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 17,000.

SI Dharampal had allegedly demanded money for helping a candidate get a heavy vehicle driving licence without attending the required training.

According to DSP (Vigilance) Amit Beniwal, a candidate from Ludesar village had approached Dharampal regarding the licence. Instead of following the procedure, the officer asked for a bribe to bypass the mandatory biometric attendance. The candidate reported the incident to the Vigilance Department.

Along with him, Manish Kumar, the owner of a CSC (Common Service Centre) in the Chatargarhpatti area of Sirsa, was also arrested. Manish acted as a middleman in the deal and used to work as a typist, helping people with government-related work. Further investigation is on.
