‘Robotic Challenge 2020’

Ambala: Shivalik International Senior Secondary Public School, Naraingarh, conducted ‘Robotic Challenge 2020′ in association with Smart Circuit Innovation Pvt Ltd. Students showcased their intellect by designing and moulding robots with the given problem statements by the experts team of Science Trek. Two such inventive students’ teams developed soccer robot and played soccer match, adding up to this, another team of quick – witted and insightful students made wireless robots using bluetooth and participated in robot race. Students said it was a fun, exciting and informative experience for them. Principal Anuradha Bhatia along with the experts team, applauded and appreciated the efforts put by students and awarded the winners with medals. Science Trek Team Director Saurav also encouraged the efforts of the school by presenting a trophy to the school.

MDU Vice-Chancellor takes charge

Rohtak: Dr Rajbir Singh on Friday took over the charge of the office of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) Vice-Chancellor. Dr Singh said he was committed to build up MDU as a centre of academic and research. Efforts would be made to foster an enabling academic environment, technology-enabled teaching and learning eco-system, increase employability of varsity students, and facilitate holistic personality development of students. He said digital governance system would be a priority. He thanked all the stakeholders of the university for their efforts to take MDU to new heights.

Annual sports meet ‘Lakshya 2020’

Kurukshetra: Mata Rukmani Rai Arya Senior Secondary School, Kharindwa, Shahabad, organised an annual sports meet ‘Lakshya 2020’ at the school campus. Sports Minister Sandeep Singh was as the chief guest and Shahabad MLA Ram Karan Kala was the guest of honour. Singh addressed the parents and motivated children to come forward with flying colours both in academics and sports. The aim of the programme was to make students stress-free before examinations. Various sports events including, PT, dumbell drill, zumba and aerobics, were held. A special choreographed item on the theme ‘Sports player of Haryana’ was performed. Principal Bibandeep Kaur praised the efforts of the students.

Seminar on ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’

Kaithal: The ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat Club’ was duly constituted at the seminar room of the RKSD College here to materialise the Union Government scheme regarding the pairing of the states. Principal Sanjay Goel inaugurated the event and said, “In order to clarify the nature of unity in diversity, Haryana has been associated with the state of Telangana, in which students of both the states will study each other’s culture, art, lifestyle, food, customs, their economic and geographical locations.”

Programme on drug abuse

Sirsa: Physical Education Department of Chaudhary Devi Lal University here organised a programme on consequences of drug abuse. Superintendent of Police Dr Arun Nehra exhorted the students to remain away from drugs and concentrate on their future. He asked them to indulge in the practice of yoga and meditation for peace of mind. The SP said as many as 148 FIRs under the NDPS Act had been registered between January 1 and February 16. To stop drug menace, NGOs and prominent persons of the society should come forward, he said.
