The Municipal Corporation (MC) has again warned that dairies operating in residential areas will be sealed if they fail to relocate to the Kanheli Dairy Complex soon.

The warning was issued during a meeting with dairy owners from the Gandhi Camp area held on Friday regarding the relocation of dairies from residential localities. The meeting, chaired by Municipal Commissioner Anand Sharma, was attended by corporation officials and dairy operators from the area.

“Shifting dairies from residential zones is essential to maintain cleanliness and safeguard public health. The Dairy Complex at Kanheli has been developed precisely for this purpose—to manage waste, control pollution, and prevent unhygienic conditions caused by dairy activities within city limits,” emphasised Sharma.

The Commissioner said all necessary facilities had been provided at the Dairy Complex for the convenience of dairy owners. “These include proper water supply, waste disposal systems, designated animal sheds, pathways, a fodder market, and lighting arrangements. Development work at the complex is being carried out to ensure a well-equipped environment for dairy operations,” he claimed.

Sharma made it clear that strict action would now be taken against those dairy owners who had already been allotted plots in the Kanheli Dairy Complex but had not shifted their dairies yet. “Such dairy owners must immediately begin the process of relocation. If they fail to comply, their dairies operating within the city will be sealed,” he warned.

He also reminded that prior notices had already been issued by the Land and Sanitation Departments in this regard. The commissioner added that dumping of cow dung in open areas would invite fines along with sealing of the dairy.

Sharma reiterated that this step aimed at promoting cleanliness and provide citizens with a clean and healthy environment. The MC, he said, was fully committed to building a clean, organised and pollution-free Rohtak.
