Rohtak Division Commissioner seeks closure of FIR against him
Chandigarh, July 23
Commissioner Rohtak Division Sanjeev Verma has written to DGP Haryana for expeditious investigation with regard to FIR No. 171 of 2022, registered at Sector 5 police station of Panchkula, against him or cancellation “if there is no substance”.
In a letter, dated July 19, Verma pointed out that he had got registered FIR No. 170 in 2022 at Sector 5 police station, Panchkula, against senior IAS officer Ashok Khemka for illegal appointments in Haryana State Warehousing Corporation (HSWC). At that time, Verma was managing director, HSWC. The FIR against Khemka was registered for cheating and under Section 13 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
He complained that on the same day, as a counterblast to the FIR, Ashok Khemka got lodged FIR No.171 for criminal conspiracy, and creating incorrect records, and later Prevention of Corruption Act was also added to the FIR.
Verma added that FIR No. 171 was registered under the influence of then Home Minister Anil Vij. He alleged that Vij acting in a biased manner wrote to the Chief Secretary on July 7, 2022, denying permission under Section 17 A of the PC Act against Khemka but at the same time recommended to accord sanction against him. Verma pointed out that proceedings in FIR No. 171 were lying dumped and no investigation had been done by the police so far.
