According to sources, employees of the MCR inspected the gaushala on Friday, counted the number of cattle and checked the fodder being served to them, besides inspecting the sanitation conditions and other necessary arrangements there.

DC Ajay said the committee had been formed to find out the ways to improve the functioning of the gaushala. “An internal committee of the MCR is evaluating all aspects. Since officials of other departments were also to be included, a new committee has been formed for the purpose,” he added.

Meanwhile, Sombir Sharma, operator of the gaushala, said the team inspected the gaushala and found everything to be satisfactory at the facility.

“We have been taking care of over 3,500 heads of cattle here for over one and a half years. All guidelines and norms laid down by the state government are being followed,” he added. The gaushala is being run by a charitable trust.
