Rohtak health varsity’s chief vigilance officer steps down

In a major development, Dr Suresh Kanta Rathee, the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) at Pt BD Sharma University of Health Sciences (UHS), Rohtak, has stepped down from her position.

Dr Rathee, who also serves as a senior Professor and Head of the Department of Anatomy at the PGIMS, had been holding the charge of CVO for over a year.

Efforts to contact Dr Rathee to ascertain the reason behind her resignation were unsuccessful. However, UHS authorities have confirmed the resignation.

Meanwhile, Dr HK Aggarwal, Vice-Chancellor of UHS, highlighted recent advancements at the institution. He announced that the university has made significant strides in improving post-discharge patient care. “We now provide an eight-day supply of medicines from the hospital's distribution centre to discharged patients,” he said.

Additionally, Dr Aggarwal revealed several ongoing projects aimed at enhancing campus facilities. “We are developing a green belt from the university’s new gate to the OPD and to assist patients in navigating between different departments, we have introduced an e-rickshaw service,” he added.

The VC also emphasised the university’s progress in specialised medical procedures. “Kidney transplants have been initiated at PGIMS, with a 100 per cent success rate so far. We have also invited applications for liver transplant surgeons to start liver transplant procedures,” he said.

To extend healthcare access to the public, UHS has launched the Swasthya Aapke Dwar campaign across its four Urban Primary Health Centres in Rohtak. “We have also started a teleconsultation initiative in collaboration with National Health Mission (NHM), allowing patients to consult specialists near their homes,” Dr Aggarwal said.
