Rohtak, Kurukshetra varsities excel in national ranking

Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak, has bagged the 35th rank in the country by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in the State Public University category for the year 2024.
The MDU is the top state public university of Haryana with NIRF Rank 35, followed by Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra (Rank 41), Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar (Rank 47) and Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar (Rank 48).
The Kurukshetra University has secured the 41st rank among the state public universities of the country in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) of the Ministry of Education, released on Monday.
The institutions are ranked on the basis of parameters such as teaching, learning and resources; research and professional practices; graduation outcome; outreach and inclusivity; and peer perception.
Vice Chancellor of Kurukshetra University Prof Som Nath Sachdeva congratulated all teachers and non-teaching staff and said that this was the result of everyone’s dedication, hard work and perseverance.
Deputy Director, Public Relations Department, Jimmy Sharma said the Kurukshetra University was the first university of Haryana among state government universities to have received A++ NAAC grade. In the field of sports, the KU secured third position in the renowned MAKA Trophy for the second consecutive year and in the field of cultural activities, the university secured the first position among the state universities and third position (overall) in the 37th All India Inter University Youth Festival held at Punjab Agriculture University, Punjab.
