Rohtak, August 29

Sukhiram, an 80-year-old resident of Jindran village in Rohtak district, has alleged that his son Vinod Kumar had tortured him and expelled him out of his own home after making him transfer his agricultural land in his grandsons’ name.

As of now, Sukhiram is staying at his daughter Kamla’s home in Rohtak. He says he had lodged a complaint at the Chief Minister’s Window in this regard long ago, but to no avail.

“We are three sisters and a brother. Our brother not only tortured our parents, but also sold a kidney of our mother in the name of some other surgery. Following that, our mother developed some complications and eventually died,” alleged Sukhiram’s younger daughter Babita.

The three sisters — Kamla, Roshni and Babita — have urged the state authorities and district administration to intervene in the matter and help them get the medical record of their mother so that they can pursue the case.

“Our mother died due to the atrocities committed on her by our brother. Our father is also in a bad condition. We are taking care of him to the best of our ability. Our brother had promised before a panchayat to serve him after getting the land. But now, after having got the land, he refuses to let our father stay at his home,” rued Kamla.

Kamla and Babita pointed out that their brother, his wife and sons did not even attend the cremation of their mother.

They have requested the authorities concerned to step in and ensure justice to their hapless father.

Allegations false, sisters want property

Vinod has, however, denied the allegations levelled by his sisters, maintaining that he was willing to serve his father and had no objection if he stayed with him at the village. “They are levelling false and baseless allegations as they want to get the family property,” he stated, adding that his father is under the influence of his sisters.
