Rohtak mourns loss of pilot Lokendra Sindhu in Rajasthan aircraft crash
Squadron Leader Lokendra Singh Sindhu — one of the two Indian Air Force (IAF) pilots who lost their lives in a Jaguar aircraft crash near Churu, Rajasthan, on Wednesday during a routine training mission — was a native of Kheri Sadh village. His family currently resides at Dev Colony in Rohtak city.
His mortal remains are expected to arrive in Rohtak today, where his final rites will be performed with full state honours. His father, Joginder Singh Sindhu, is a retired Superintendent from Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak.
Lokendra had become a father just a month ago. The family had been celebrating the arrival of the newborn, receiving congratulatory messages from friends and relatives.
Rohtak MLA Bharat Bhushan Batra expressed his condolences through a post on social media.
“Today, not just Rohtak, but the entire nation is in mourning. We have received the deeply saddening news of the martyrdom of our brave son of Rohtak, Squadron Leader Lokendra Singh Sindhu. He made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of the nation and attained immortality. His sacrifice will forever serve as an inspiration for generations to come,” Batra wrote.
