Rohtak PGIMS docs to learn advanced research techniques
Doctors at Pt Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak (UHSR), are set to undergo a specialised training on conducting national and international-level research. A team of research experts from Delhi will visit the university on Tuesday to conduct the special training session. Dr Sanjay Kumar, Nodal Officer, Multi-Disciplinary Research Unit, UHSR, said the training aimed at enhancing research skills among doctors while describing various aspects of the research.
It would help researchers to use the latest techniques and methods in their research work, he added.
“Many doctors are interested in research but face challenges due to a lack of knowledge, which often prevents them from securing grants or gaining recognition for their work. As a result, they miss out on the opportunity to conduct research at national and international levels. To address this gap, the Multi-Disciplinary Research Unit is going to host this workshop,” he said.
Dr Kumar added that the workshop would be inaugurated by UHSR Vice-Chancellor Dr HK Aggarwal, who will light the ceremonial lamp to mark the event. Following the inauguration, training would be provided on advanced research techniques and methodologies.
“Scientists from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, ICMR, DBT, PHAF and DHR will conduct the training. The session will cover essential topics, including identifying research questions, designing research projects, data collection and using cutting-edge technologies like data analytics. Additionally, the workshop will offer guidance on raising research funds from various agencies and fostering international research collaborations,” he added. Dr Kumar said the objective of the workshop was to boost the research capacity of doctors, and equip them with tools necessary for conducting high-quality research. The training would also provide insights into research publications and how to navigate the complex world of international research collaboration and funding. Over 200 participants registered for the event.
