The authorities at the PGIMS here on Thursday launched an online consultation service for such patients to provide them consultancy regarding their health issues at their doorstep while saving their time. Specialist doctors from 10 departments of the PGIMS have been engaged with the facility. They will sit at a place daily and will treat patients through e-Sanjeevani portal.

“The tele-consultation facility has been introduced following the directives of the state government, which has also made the PGIMS as a nodal centre for the state-wide service. Under the facility, the doctors posted at the CHCs and the PHCs across the state will be able to connect with the PGIMS doctors online. They will inform the PGIMS doctors about the patients’ condition to get consultation for further treatment,” said Dr HK Aggarwal, Vice-Chancellor, Pt BD Sharma University of Health Sciences (UHS) here.

The tele-consultation room has been set up at the office of the Medical Superintendent’s office which was formally inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor. He also spent some time there to experience how the doctors were consulting and treating the patients through the online mode.
