Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) has launched a leave management system app. Vice-Chancellor Prof Rajbir Singh said it was an important technological upgrade that would make the university’s administrative functioning faster, more transparent and efficient.

“The app, developed by the university computer centre, will greatly simplify the leave application process for teaching and non-teaching employees. Through this system, employees will be able to apply for leave online anytime and access their complete leave records with a single click,” the VC added. He maintained that the leave management system app would be implemented on a trial basis up to December 31. During this period, employees will have the option to submit leave applications both online and offline. To monitor the app’s performance during the trial phase, a committee headed by the Dean of Academic Affairs has been formed. The committee will submit its reviews before December 15 and again before December 31, the VC added.

The university has announced that the app will be fully implemented from January 1, 2026, after which all leave applications will be accepted only through the online system.
