Rohtak, April 9
Residents of Behlba village in the district have decided to proactively support government schools of the area.
Vedpal Rathi, a former Navy officer from Behlba, who is currently staying in the US, called up The Tribune and said a committee of prominent members of the village would be constituted to extend all possible help to the schools.
Rathi said he had discussed the matter with the village sarpanch and other residents after reading a news report titled “Rohtak school razed 5 years ago, new building yet to come up” published in these columns on April 7.
Notably, the building of Government Girls’ Senior Secondary School at Behlba village in Rohtak district was demolished after being declared condemned in 2017 and a new building is yet to be constructed.
“The committee members will coordinate with the government officials concerned and the contractor to get the construction of the school building streamlined and expedited,” he added.
The committee will also get CCTV cameras installed at another government school in the village and take care of the other requirements of all schools in the area.
Jyoti, village sarpanch, and Sanjay Hooda, Principal of Government Senior Secondary School, Behlba, expressed gratitude to The Tribune for highlighting the issue.
