In a tragic incident, three members of a family were killed when the roof of their kutcha house collapsed in Moti Nagar area of Ambala City on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased have been identified as Javed Ali (35), his wife Anu (32), and their son Noor Mohammad (5). They were sitting under the roof, supported by wooden beams, when it gave way and came crashing down.

“The roof collapsed with a loud sound. We rushed in and tried to pull them out,” said a neighbour who witnessed the incident.

The victims were taken to the Civil Hospital in Ambala City, where doctors declared them dead on arrival. Fortunately, their daughter Khatija (7) survived as she was playing outside at the time.

The family earned their livelihood through small-scale street vending. Only Javed’s elderly mother and young daughter survived.
