Kaithal Superintendent of Police (SP) Rajesh Kalia was the chief guest and flagged off the run. The event saw active participation from youth, children, senior citizens and women. The run began at DAV College, passed through Government Girls College and returned to the starting point. Throughout the event, SP Kalia encouraged participants to chant slogans against drug abuse and emphasised the importance of collective action in making Haryana a drug-free state.

In his address to the gathering, SP Kalia stated that drug addiction is eroding society and urged everyone to stay away from drugs and encourage others to do the same. “Youth are the future of our country and their energy should be channelled into sports, education and other constructive activities rather than falling into the trap of drugs,” he remarked. He stressed the need for parents and society to work together to protect young people from drug addiction.

SP Kalia also highlighted the direct link between drug abuse and crime, pointing out that many individuals resort to unlawful activities to fund their drug habits. He reaffirmed the police department’s commitment to taking strict action against drug traffickers and called on the public to support the anti-drug movement by reporting drug-related activities to authorities.

The Superintendent of Police urged youngsters to focus on education, sports and other competitions, rather than succumbing to substance abuse. He called on influential figures in society to take an active role in guiding the youth away from drugs and making them aware of the severe consequences of addiction.
