The MLA said that Mahatma Gandhi had conferred to Patel the title of ‘Iron Man’ for his firm determination and exceptional leadership. He also recalled Patel’s contribution to the Kheda Movement (1918) and Bardoli Satyagraha (1928), which earned him the title of “Sardar” from the women of Bardoli.
