Ex-MLA, former HAFED chief leave venue before CM’s arrival
- In a controversial moment, former MLA Leela Ram and former HAFED chairman Kailash Bhagat left the venue before the CM’s arrival, allegedly due to their seats being moved from the first row. However, Pundri MLA Satpal Jamba refuted the reports, stating, “Their seats were originally in the first row, but I’m not sure how the arrangement changed while I was receiving MP Naveen Jindal and CM.”
“The state government has formed a committee to review proposals for declaring new subdivisions or districts. A proposal for Pundri's subdivision status has been submitted and the status will be granted as soon as the report is received,” Saini said while addressing a large gathering at the Dhanyavad Rally in Pundri on Thursday.
Saini outlined several projects aimed at improving infrastructure and facilities in the area. He announced the allocation of Rs 5 crore for renovating old school buildings and proposed the construction of health centres in Fatehpur and Badnara villages, contingent on land availability. Additionally, Rs 5 crore was earmarked for repairing marketing board roads, while Rs 10 crore will be used for the strengthening and repair of Public Works Department roads.
Earlier, Saini inaugurated and laid foundation stones for three projects worth Rs 15 crore. These projects include constructing a link road from Pundri to Sega, strengthening the Nilokheri-Karsa-Dhand Road and improving six other roads.
Prominent figures such as Kurukshetra MP Naveen Jindal, MLA Satpal Jamba and other dignitaries also attended the event.
Saini emphasised the unique cultural identity of every region in Haryana, citing Pundri’s famed Firni and Gohana’s Jalebi as examples of local pride. He also took a swipe at the opposition, asserting that some leaders are disconnected from Haryana’s cultural roots.
“While the Opposition had demanded an account of the BJP government's achievements, the people of Haryana have already given their verdict through the recent elections. Our double-engine government is committed to realising Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of transforming India into a developed nation by 2047,” Saini said.
