Saini: Double-engine govt fulfilling Ambedkar’s vision of social justice
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday reaffirmed the commitment of the “double-engine government” — at both the Centre and state level — to uplifting the most marginalised sections of society by following the ideals of Dr BR Ambedkar.
Addressing the Dr BR Ambedkar Samman Samaroh and seminar organised at the Ravidas Temple and Dharamshala in Kurukshetra, the Chief Minister said, “The double-engine government has implemented schemes to empower the poor people, make the backward people prosperous, and provide justice to every citizen.”
He said 2025 will be celebrated as Constitution Gaurav Year to honour Dr Ambedkar’s contributions. “There is a need to follow the path shown by great personalities in life to take the country forward,” Saini said.
The Chief Minister inaugurated the newly built Ambedkar Bhawan at the venue and announced a grant of Rs 21 lakh to the organising committee. He was accompanied by former Minister of State Subhash Sudha and several BJP leaders.
Highlighting Dr Ambedkar’s lifelong struggle, the CM said, “Dr Ambedkar dedicated his entire life to the uplift of the poor and the backward people. He worked to remove casteism, untouchability, and inequality in society, and to get justice for every person. This great personality tried to give happiness to the poor by bearing the pain himself.”
He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is following the path shown by Dr Ambedkar. “This government has worked to give respect to the poor by implementing schemes like Ayushman Bharat and Chirayu Card over the past 10 years.”
Saini also cited the success of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, under which Rs 151 crore was credited to nearly 36,000 beneficiaries in Haryana, and highlighted the construction of toilets in every home and the provision of 1 lakh government jobs based on merit.
