Former Union Minister and Sirsa MP Kumari Selja today alleged that by making false promises, the Nayab Singh Saini government was playing with the future of youth in Haryana.
“The state government is playing the same game with the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam (HKRN) employees as the Central Government does with Agniveers. Anganwadi workers, teachers, doctors, nurses, and clerks are on strike in the state. There is chaos all around but the government is sleeping,” she claimed.
In a statement issued to the media, Selja said it was an old habit of the BJP government to make false promises. “Farmers, labourers, youth, women, students and employees are on strike in the state, however, the deaf and dumb government is sleeping in its slumber. Health services are at a standstill as National Health Mission (NHM) employees are on a strike. Facilities such anaemia programmes, vaccination, ambulance services, cancer patients’ check-ups, pregnant women’s registration, etc. have been affected due to the strike. However, the government is adamant,” she said.
She said it was insulting that under HKRN, youth who were educated up to PhD, were being paid an honorarium of Rs 15000-22000 per month. “The government claims to give jobs based on merit, but it should introspect whether it has given jobs on the same basis or not. The youth working under HKRN will become overage after 10 years, then who will give them jobs,” she said.
She announced that after the Congress formed the government, it would dissolve HKRN and give permanent jobs to the youth. “Now only a little time is left for the Assembly elections, and in such a situation, the BJP government wants to mislead public by making various announcements,” Selja added.
