Saini-led delegation signs six MoUs worth Rs 1,185 cr during Japan visit

Agreements to generate 13,000 jobs; focus on MSMEs, semiconductors

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, leading a high-level delegation on an official visit to Japan, held bilateral meetings with senior Japanese ministers and top corporate leaders to strengthen economic, industrial and cultural ties between Haryana and Japan.

On the first day of his visit, the delegation signed six MoUs with prominent Japanese corporations, expected to bring investments worth Rs 1,185 crore to Haryana and create employment opportunities for more than 13,000 youth.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh, Chief Principal Secretary Rajesh Khullar, Principal Secretary Arun Kumar Gupta, Commissioner and Secretary (Industries and Commerce) Dr Amit Kumar Agrawal, Commissioner and Secretary (Foreign Cooperation) Amneet P Kumar and HSIIDC Managing Director Dr Yash Garg, among other senior officials.

During his meeting with Miyaji Takuma, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Japan, the Chief Minister invited Japan to participate as a partner country in the upcoming Happening Haryana Global Investors Summit 2026, scheduled for April next year. The discussions centred on enhancing trade and investment between Haryana and Japan and fostering people-to-people ties.

Later, Saini also met Koga Yuichiro, Minister of State, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), where talks focused on collaboration in the micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) sector and emerging areas such as future mobility, green energy, advanced electronics, semiconductors, infrastructure and digital transformation.

“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is advancing rapidly and has emerged as the world’s fourth-largest economy. The Haryana Government is committed to attracting greater foreign investment to the state. Strengthening ties with a technologically advanced nation like Japan will create new opportunities for industry, innovation and employment in Haryana,” the Chief Minister said.

The delegation’s engagements included meetings with leading Japanese companies such as AISIN, Air Water, TASI, Nambu, Denso, Sojitz, Nissin, Kawakin and Toppan, culminating in the signing of six MoUs. The Chief Minister also met officials from TDK Corporation, discussing partnerships in electronics, sensors and magnetic materials. Notably, ATL Battery, a TDK subsidiary, is setting up India’s largest lithium-ion battery manufacturing plant in Sohna, Haryana.

The Chief Minister also attended the International Gita Mahotsav in Japan, emphasising that the Gita is not merely a religious scripture but “a philosophy of life” promoting peace, harmony and cooperation worldwide.
