Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini held a meeting with the Vice-Chancellors (VCs) of government universities here today to discuss reforms in the education sector.

The CM said the state Budget would prioritise education, ensuring that quality education was provided to children in line with the National Education Policy. He also invited suggestions from the VCs to enhance the education system.

The CM said the government, in its Sankalp Patra, was committed to offering full scholarship to state students belonging to Backward Classes and Scheduled Castes and pursuing medical and engineering studies at any government college in India.

He said all provisions of the National Education Policy should be implemented across universities and colleges, with the goal of transforming Haryana into a global education hub, offering training in AI and modern skills.

Interacting with the VC of Maharana Pratap Horticulture University, the CM said the future lay in horticultural crops and stressed the need to raise awareness among farmers about adopting crop diversification.

The first phase of the India International Horticulture Market, being built at Ganaur, would soon be inaugurated. The CM directed the formulation of a plan to establish sports schools in every district to enhance sports proficiency of the state's youth. He said the youth of Haryana should be trained from now for the 2036 Olympics.

Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda said there was no shortage of talent among the youth, but he pointed out that many children often fell behind due to the lack of opportunities. He suggested that during exhibitions in schools and colleges, students who created exceptional models related to science, environment, and other fields, should be provided with proper guidance and funding to pursue research in those areas.
