Ambala, August 20
To woo sugarcane farmers who are forced to hold agitations to get their dues cleared from Naraingarh Sugar Mills Ltd every year, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini today promised to set up a cooperative sugar mill in Naraingarh if voted to power.
While addressing a ‘Mhara Haryana Non-Stop Haryana Jan Ashirwad Rally’ in Naraingarh, the CM said, “The sugarcane farmers of Ambala, Panchkula and the Radaur area of Yamunanagar have been facing harassment because of the Naraingarh Sugar Mills, hence we have decided to establish a cooperative sugar mill in Naraingarh. A land has been identified and the panchayat has given the land for the sugar mill. We will put this promise in the manifesto and resolve the issue of sugarcane farmers. I know every issue of Naraingarh and all issues will be resolved after forming the next government.”
He lambasted the Congress leaders and said, “Our government takes decisions in a mission mode and these have been welcomed by all sections of society. We have given a new direction to Haryana. Those who are asking for an account of our 10-year rule should also give the account of their 10-year rule. I have asked some questions from Hooda sahib, and I ask the same questions from Kumari Selja and Randeep Surjewala too as they have different camps. I challenge former CM Hooda to answer my questions and stop spreading lies.”
While highlighting the achievements and public welfare decisions of the government, Saini said, “The road network, power infrastructure, and healthcare facilities have been strengthened and various other facilities have been provided to the citizens of Naraingarh. The people of Haryana have decided to elect the BJP government for the third time in Haryana. We have a clear vision and policy, while the Congress doesn’t have intention, policy and leadership.”
Since Naraingarh is the home constituency of the Chief Minister, striking an emotional chord, Saini said, “I started my political career from Naraingarh. In 2014, I was elected as an MLA and the party made me a minister. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has trusted the people of Naraingarh and has given the responsibility of Haryana to the son a poor farmer. You should also understand this. Ambala is my ‘karmabhoomi’. Today your son urges you to give all four Assembly constituencies of Ambala to us and I assure you that I will not let your respect go down.”
Minister of State for Transport Aseem Goel, district BJP chief Mandeep Rana, and several BJP leaders were also present during the rally.
