Sanitation officials told to re-inspect public toilets in Yamunanagar & Jagadhri
Ayush Sinha, Municipal Commissioner of Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ) has directed all sanitation officials to re-inspect public toilets in the twin cities of Yamunanagar and Jagadhri to get open defecation free plus-plus (ODF double plus) certificate.
He said every toilet should be clean and in working condition besides water supply should be provided in all of them. He further said a list of supervisers, workers and toilet facilities should be displayed outside all toilets.
He added that women toilets should have a special sanitary pad machine and a yellow coloured dustbin for disposal of sanitary pads.
Sinha gave these instructions at a meeting held with the officials of the Public Health Department, engineering branch and sanitation branch of the MCYJ to get best rank in Swachh Survey to be conducted in near future. At the meeting, sewerage /sewerage treatment plants (STPs), GFC (garbage free city), ODF plus-plus and other topics related to Swachh survey were discussed in detail.
The Municipal Commissioner gave guidelines to the officials to get maximum marks on every subject.
He gave strict instructions to the officials to prepare a file of the works and activities to be done on every subject related to the Swachh survey.
He directed the officials that they should complete the incomplete works soon and all data should be updated on the portal of the Swachh survey.
“Negligence in any work will not be tolerated, therefore, all officials should take the Swachh survey work seriously,” said Sinha.
He instructed the officials to cover the sewerage, to repair the blocked sewerage lines and check all STPs in the urban area.
He said there should be proper management of water coming out of STPs, daily log books should be prepared and there should be a complete record of water given to farmers from the STPs.
The Municipal Commissioner also discussed the subjects of ODF plus-plus and garbage free city (GFC) with the officials of the engineering branch and sanitation branch. He said in ODF plus-plus had 1,200 marks and GFC had 1,300 marks in the Swachh survey. The meeting was attended by Additional Municipal Commissioner Dr Vijay Pal Yadav, Executive Engineer Vikas Dhiman, Executive Engineer Saurabh, Chief Sanitary Inspector (CSI) Harjeet Singh, CSI Sunil Dutt, Sanitary Inspector Govind Sharma and other officials.
