Kaithal: The Sanskrit department of RKSD Postgraduate College organised an annual shlokacharan competition and prize distribution ceremony. Addressing the students, principal Sanjay Goyal said, “Sanskrit is the language of rituals and students should become the best citizens of the country, full of auspicious rites and achieve their higher goals in their lives.” About 30 students from different classes of the college participated in the competition, of which Rakesh stood first and Vineet second.

Graduation day celebrated

Karnal: A graduation day ceremony was organised at Mount Litera Zee School. The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp by principal Deep Bedi followed by Zee Learn anthem by the school choir group. Students of Junior KG presented a dance performance. Tiny tots of pre-primary wore graduation robes and walked the stage.

Khelo India winners welcomed

Yamunanagar: Guru Nanak Khalsa College welcomed the players who won medals at the Khelo India University Games. Principal Harinder Singh Kang said the competition was organised in Bhubaneswar in Odisha recently. He said in these games, Anshul won silver in 81 kg and Vishwajeet in 102 kg.

Recognition of courses extended

Kurukshetra: Dean of the National Institute of Technology (NIIT), Kurukshetra, (Academic) Prof Gyan Bhushan said the National Board Accreditation (NBA) had extended the recognition period of five undergraduate courses of the institute. He said earlier, the recognition period of five UG courses was June 30, 2020, which had been increased to June 30, 2023.

Conference on nanoscience

Kurukshetra: The 8th national conference on nanoscience and instrumentation technology was organised by the department of physics of the National Institute of Technology (NIIT). Chief guest RK Kotnala, chief scientist of NPL, New Delhi, highlighted the dire need to create harmonious coordination between the various branches of science and technology and scientific studies. NIIT director Satish Kumar discussed the examples of material science research in steel industry, use of nanotechnology in ancient medicine and new era of nanotechnology to positively impact society.
