SDM inspects mustard procurement arrangements in Tosham grain market
Tosham SDM Dr Ashvir Nain inspected the grain market in subdivisional town of Tosham in Bhiwani district to assess the mustard procurement process and issued necessary directives to officials.
During his visit to the grain market, he interacted with both farmers and commission agents (arhtiyas) and asked them about their concerns.
Dr Nain assured farmers that there would be no inconvenience in selling their crops and urged them to dry their produce before bringing it to the mandi to ensure a smooth purchasing process for procurement agencies. He also reviewed electricity and water facilities in the mandi and directed officials to ensure that the farmers did not face any difficulties.
Responding to concerns raised by some commission agents about shortages of gunny bags, the SDM ordered immediate arrangements for an adequate supply of bags to the authorities concerned in the grain market. He also directed the mandi authorities to ensure uninterrupted procurement and speedy lifting of purchased mustard to avoid congestion.
The official minimum support price (MSP) for mustard has been set at Rs 5,950 per quintal. He said the farmers can bring their produce, get a token and sell their crops without hassle.
The Market Committee secretary Sudesh Sheoran, Haryana Warehouse representative Dharambir, Surveyor Raviraj, Mandi President Sunil Dalal, Chetan Sharma, Suresh Lathar, Sajjan, Sachin, and many farmers and commission agents were present on the occasion.
