Yamunanagar, March 5

Farmers will protest and court arrest on March 11 in Karnal district, demanding the release of those arrested by the government.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the Bhartiya Kisan Union (Tikait group) held under the chairmanship of district president Subhash Gurjar at his residence at Dhaurang village of the district on Monday. He said the government put the farmers behind bars registering fake cases against them during the farmers’ agitation.

“If the government does not release the farmers soon, we will court arrest in Karnal on March 11 and march towards Delhi on March 14,” said Subhash Gurjar, district president of the BKU. He said hundreds of farmers belonging to Yamunanagar district would participate in the protest in Karnal on March 11 and court arrest.

“The state government wants to suppress the farmers’ agitation, but we will not let this happen,” said Subhash Gurjar. On the occasion, Jaipal Chamrori, Ravinder Pal Singh, Kulwinder Singh Sandhu, Ashok Dangi, Papu Silikalan, Rajesh Chamrori, Gurdiyal Jubbal, Subhash Chamrori and Pawan Goyal were present at the meeting.
