Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) president Kumari Selja on Saturday lashed out at the Central Government for passing the three farm Bills despite uproar by the Congress.

“The Congress had objected to the three agricultural Bills when these were introduced, but the Central Government did not listen to it. The government is not concerned about the sufferings of countrymen. Even during the peak Covid period and the lockdown, benefits were extended to capitalists,” alleged Selja while addressing a “kisan sammelan” at Barwala town here.

The Congress leader said the farmers’ agitation was showing a new path to the country and the world. People from all walks of life had extended support to the farmers.

She said,”The state of Bihar had enacted agricultural laws in 2006, and today farmers there are working like labourers. Now, the Centre wants to create a similar situation for Haryana and Punjab farmers. The three ‘black laws’ will encourage hoarding and for this, capitalists have already built big warehouses.” — TNS
