Selja demands Vande Bharat train for Sirsa
Sirsa MP Kumari Selja on Tuesday urged the Centre to operate Vande Bharat Express between Chandigarh and Sirsa via Bathinda. She also demanded expedition of the Hisar-Sirsa railway line via Agroha.
Speaking in Parliament, Selja highlighted the urgent need for the Vande Bharat train. She said there was no direct train connecting Chandigarh to Sirsa or Hisar and the new route would greatly benefit the region.
Selja also expressed concern about the slow progress of ongoing projects, mentioning that out of 14 projects, six showed no progress and only 1-2 per cent work has been completed on others. While the idea of a bullet train is being discussed, she stressed that the speed of current projects should be increased.
The MP specifically pointed out that the Hisar-Sirsa railway line via Agroha project has not seen any development yet. “Agroha, a prominent pilgrimage site for the Vaishya community, attracts visitors from across the country and abroad. Improved connectivity will boost tourism and support economy,”
she said.
Selja urged Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to pay attention to these pending projects.
