BJP leader and former MLA Ashok Tanwar suggested senior Congress leader and Sirsa MP Kumari Selja to accept the offer of former CM and Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar to join the BJP. Khattar offered her to join the BJP on Friday during his public meeting in Gharaunda.

“Although she is like a sister to me, she did not support me, otherwise the situation could have been different. The incident that happened with her is similar to what I experienced in the Congress. We spent five years and eight months to raise the voice of the people, but despite that workers were ignored. It is Selja’s decision whether she should join the BJP or not, but she should consider Manohar Lal Khattar’s offer, as Khattar ji is a senior leader in the party,” said Tanwar, while interacting with mediapersons on the sideline of a public meeting that was held in Gharaunda in favour of BJP candidate Harvinder Kalyan.

Tanwar expressed confidence that the BJP would once again form the government in Haryana, marking its third consecutive term. “There is an overwhelming enthusiasm across the state for the BJP and the government, when formed, will accelerate development further,” said Tanwar, emphasising on fulfilling all promises made in the election manifesto. “We have made several promises in our manifesto and we are committed to fulfilling them,” Tanwar added.

Tanwar attacked the Congress party, accusing it of running the Lok Sabha election campaign on false promises. He also criticised the Congress for not giving jobs on merit and hailed the BJP for doing so.

On being asked about the government being controlled from Delhi, he said, “Delhi’s influence has always been there. But the BJP’s Central leadership has given the state’s leadership full freedom to work as they wish and this has allowed Haryana to progress significantly.”

Tanwar highlighted the rapid development under the BJP government, saying, “Haryana has seen immense progress and the income of the farmers has doubled.”
