Former Union Minister and Sirsa MP Kumari Selja began her thanksgiving tour on Friday from Sahuwala village in her constituency. She said the tour was not just about expressing gratitude, but a promise to serve people, who supported her and her late father Chaudhary Dalbir Singh over the years.

Addressing a gathering, Selja said, “We move forward by taking all 36 communities together. Rahul Gandhi is raising people’s voice across the country and now it’s our duty to stand united and fight for our rights.”

Selja promised to work hard for village development and said listening to the people and solving their problems is her full responsibility. “True politics means serving the people,” she added.

Speaking about the national political situation, Selja said people across the country, especially in states like Bihar, are gathering in large numbers to support Rahul Gandhi. Residents of Sahuwala thanked Selja for helping approve an underpass on the national highway. Several Congress leaders also addressed the crowd and shared their views.

On the issue of cotton farmers, Selja criticised the Centre for removing import duties. She said after the US imposed tariffs on Indian textile exports, the Modi government, under pressure, removed duties on cotton imports, harming the interests of Indian farmers. “This decision will destroy the lives of cotton producing farmers,” she warned.
