Dr Sher Singh Sangwan highlighted the advantages of having the capital in the centre of Haryana. He noted that the move would save time and resources by reducing the daily travel of thousands of people to Chandigarh. He also maintained that a centrally located capital would allow ministers and officials to tour any district or even Delhi and return the same day. “The bus traffic to Chandigarh could be reduced by half, potentially,” he added.

Khajan Singh Sangwan, retired professor from the MD University and former bureaucrat RR Jowel highlighted the challenges faced by the people due to the capital being located outside Haryana. Hem Chandra Malik invited suggestions on why a separate capital is needed, existing hurdles and strategies ahead. Speakers proposed involving the youth and ex-servicemen. All participants supported the demand.
