A special lecture on ‘Prevention of drug abuse’ was organised by the anti-drug awareness cell at Indira Gandhi National College in Ladwa.

College principal Kushal Pal advised students to stay away from drugs, and said the youth were the future of the country. The keynote speaker, Sonia Rani, said everyone should refrain themselves from drug addiction as it destroyed the mental and physical health of an individual, but also ruined their entire family. He administered an oath to the students against the abuse of drugs.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
