Seven students were caught using unfair means during the Haryana Board matriculation mathematics exam at various examination centres in Palwal district on Friday.

Palwal Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Harish Kumar Vashisht said the flying squads, deployed by the administration, conducted a special checking drive to curb cheating during the exams. "Cases have been registered against the accused and strict measures will continue to ensure fair and transparent examinations," he said.

Among those caught, five students were from Hodal subdivision, while one each was from Hathin and Palwal subdivisions.

The DC further stated that he personally inspected several examination centres and emphasised that the administration had intensified its anti-copying drive. "We have deployed an adequate number of flying teams and if mass-scale cheating is detected at any centre, it will be cancelled," he warned.

Additionally, he asserted that action will be taken against exam staff, including teachers, if found aiding students in cheating. "Any personnel found involved in facilitating unfair means will face strict disciplinary action," he added.
